We are seeking talented and motivated individuals to interview for the position of Catering Service Supervisor . Campus Dining is one of the premiere university food service organizations in the country. The catering service supervisor manages and supervises events put on by our premiere, award winning, catering department. UM Catering caters on and off campus in western Montana and is part of UM Campus Dining. This position will assist with Performance Reviews and Performance Management for all direct reports.

Required Skills
  • Experience in catering service
  • Professional supervisory experience in a foodservice environment
  • Experience working with college students as employees and guests
  • Experience with effectively training employees new to the workforce
  • Experience with planning, implementing, and recapping special events
  • Management ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain certification within four months of employment
  • TIPS or AACEA training and certification within 30 days of hiring for the safe service of alcohol
  • Safe Campus Driving training and certification within 30 days
  • Experience in addressing personnel issues and dealing effectively with conflict
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including spread sheets
Minimum Required Experience
  • High School diploma and three (3) years of relevant experience, at least one (1) year of work in a high volume, restaurant or catering operation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Position Details

Position Title: Catering Service Supervisor ( Culinary Svcs Supv II)

Position Number: 101400

Department: UM Campus Dining

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year.

Salary: $16.38/hr

Union Affiliation: FOCUS-MFPE

Probationary Period: Six months minimum
