We are currently seeking talented, motivated and ambitious individuals to interview for the position of Assistant Manager for Campus Dining . This position will work in the Market during the academic year and other operations during the break periods between semesters . The Market is a bustling coffee shop/convenience store in the heart of campus located in the University Center.



This position will manage operations and supervise student staff in the Market. This position is a union position and reports to the Market Manager or the assigned unit. This position will assist with Performance Reviews and Performance Management for all direct reports.

Required Skills
  • Ability to manage the daily operation of The Market or the assigned operation. This includes scheduling, ordering, food, supplies, maintaining inventory, clarifying and managing guest concerns and addressing emergent operational needs
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, train, schedule, maintain student records, and directly supervise The Market staff
    • Training will include, but is not limited to: service standards, cashiering, stocking, van driving certification, guest service, basic supervision, and barista service training
  • Proven outstanding guest service and the ability to train the staff to do the same
  • Demonstrated ability to run the front of the house in a restaurant setting including alcohol service
Minimum Required Experience
  • Extensive experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities at this level are typically acquired with a degree in hospitality or food service management or a related field, and/or (3) three years of high-volume convenience store work.
  • Possess a valid driver license.
  • ServSafe Management certified

Position Details

Position Title: Campus Dining Assistant Manager (Culinary Svcs Assistant Manager)

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), 12 months/year. Position requires an alternative work schedule.

Salary: $17.613/hr

Union Affiliation: FOCUS-MFPE

Probationary Period: Six months minimum
