The University of Montana invites applications for an Accounting Associate III in Business Services to provide financial services responsive to the needs of students, faculty and staff of The University of Montana. This employee must be able to examine, analyze and interpret accounting records and invoice for the purpose of completing transactions, giving guidance and preparing statements and reports. This employee must have advanced, general, and in some areas, specialized knowledge and understanding of University, State, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures necessary for examining, analyzing, and auditing all transactions for compliance and to help ensure there are no duplications, violations or fraud.

This position requires incumbent to develop a working knowledge of general business practices and principals in a higher education environment; Private/Public Sector accounts payable; basic knowledge in strategic sourcing and/or supply chain management experience; demonstrated contract review and analysis skills; understanding of Banner finance environment; and understanding of procure to pay processes and methodology.

Minimum Required Experience
  • High School diploma and two (2) years working experience in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Details

Position Title: Accounting Assoc. III

Position Number: New

Department: Business Services

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year.

Salary: $ 15.09/hr

Union Affiliation: FOCUS-MFPE

Probationary Period: Six months minimum
