Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Nursing

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus and the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing seeks candidates for Assistant Teaching Professor (doctoral level) or Lecturer (masters level pursuing a doctorate) position in Nursing. This is a full-time, 36 week, non tenure-line, limited-term, multi-year appointment to begin August 2022 with excellent potential for re-appointment. The Nese College of Nursing is one of the most comprehensive colleges of nursing in any public university in the country. With over 2,100 undergraduate students and approximately 200 graduate students, our footprint is world-wide with our faculty creating immeasurable experiences for our students around the globe.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will include coordination and instruction in medical surgical nursing courses, including classroom, simulation laboratory, and clinical teaching. Other responsibilities may include participating in course, curriculum, and program development; advising students and providing career guidance; participating in campus, university, and community service activities; and engaging in scholarship to stay current in the discipline. Some of these responsibilities may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes or attending an occasional weekend event, as needed.

Qualifications: A completed terminal degree by appointment is preferred for Assistant Teaching Professor. Consideration will be given to applicants with a Master's degree and enrolled in a doctoral program for Lecturer. Successful applicants should show evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and mastery of medical-surgical subject matter (e.g, specialty certifications); hold a valid nursing license; and be eligible for RN licensure in Pennsylvania. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred as well as an interest in active and collaborative learning and the instructional use of technology. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. Sponsorship is not available for this position, thus candidates requiring sponsorship need not apply.
