The Freeman College of Management at Bucknell University invites applicants for a chaired position in management at the associate or full professor level beginning in Fall 2022. The position is a chaired professorship to be filled by an outstanding candidate with an established record of research, a commitment to continued scholarship, and a demonstrated record of excellence in undergraduate teaching to a diverse student body. The successful candidate will join the College's Management and Organizations Department (MORS) and will be responsible for teaching courses that are grounded in ethics, values, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or DBA in a field appropriate for teaching Management 101 and related disciplines.

The approximately 700 undergraduate students in the AACSB-accredited Freeman College of Management may choose among seven highly interdisciplinary majors that combine courses in the various fields of management with offerings in the arts, humanities, natural and social sciences, and engineering. Our innovative curriculum and world-class teacher-scholars earned the Freeman College a top 35 ranking in the 2021 Poets & Quants' annual survey of undergraduate business programs. We believe that an undergraduate education that combines technical skills and deep intellectual exploration is the best preparation for thoughtful and capable leaders. New faculty members must be capable of contributing to this mission through teaching, advising, scholarship, and service.

This position involves co-teaching Management 101, Bucknell's hallmark experiential and reflective principles of management course, Human Resource Management, as well as other undergraduate courses in the MORS Department according to the candidate's own interests and areas of competence. The unique nature of Management 101 requires that candidates for the Freeman Chair be enthusiastic about teaching with a team of professors and undergraduate teaching assistants and be capable of engaging in intense teaching in-the-moment on a regular basis. The successful candidate will teach two sections of MGMT 101 per year, comprising 28 students per section, and two other courses or two sections of one other course each year. Additional courses in the Management and Organizations Department will be assigned as needs arise based on the candidate's secondary expertise. All courses should incorporate values-driven management thinking so that students taking them will have the opportunity to develop competence in thought directed toward organizational and societal challenges. The teaching load at Bucknell University is five credits per academic year. The Freeman Chair will also be responsible for advising students

Both the Freeman College's strategic plan and the University's strategic plan provide impetus for our search for this position. The Freeman College's strategic plan, adopted at the end of the 2017-18 academic year, states that we will embed the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the curriculum of the College. Because addressing the SDGs requires new management and organizational approaches that incorporate values-driven management, we are seeking a teacher-scholar in the organizational behavior/human resource management area to teach courses that will be open to students from both inside and outside of the College of Management. In particular, we seek to hire someone who educates and studies topics directly linked to an array of United Nations social justice goals, and we hope to especially attract candidates who focus on one or more specific critical social justice issues (e.g., #10 Reduced Inequalities; #5 Gender Equality, #1 No poverty, #2 Zero Hunger; #3; Good Health & Well-Being). Our successful candidate will be interested in integrating students into their own scholarly agenda. encourage them to pursue additional collaborative teaching and scholarly initiatives with colleagues across the University.

-Candidates must demonstrate superior scholarly competency and productivity commensurate with a senior-level appointment, and the promise of ongoing productivity.
-Finalists for this position who wish to be considered for tenure upon appointment will be asked to submit a complete tenure dossier.
