Assistant Manager - Campus Connection/CPU

Summary:

Campus Connection is seeking a strong team leader to join a dynamic and wonderful team. This role will have the opportunity to work in a fun atmosphere and make an impact on students across campus.

This role will supervise daily operations, staffing, and services of the Sorensen Student Center Campus Connection and USPS Contract Postal Unit including the campus ID system, event ticket sales, campus Lost & Found, Ticket & Post Office Systems, temporary campus signage, and Information Services. Ensuring compliance with UVU policies and procedures as well as supervision of staff, training, inventory management including stamps and supplies. Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree and one year of related experience with Microsoft Office (Excel most particularly), Customer Service, and USPS Retail Services or a combination of education and experience related to the summary of duties totaling three years.

Availability from 1pm - 9pm, with some flexibility. Some Saturdays may be required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Proficiency with office software, including Microsoft Office; familiarity with web-based search techniques, social networking culture, and related communications processes.
* Knowledge in daily cash operations and accounting principles.
* Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques of effective organizational staffing, supervision, and personnel practices, including staff development and training.
* Knowledge of state and federal regulations and rules for identification.
* Knowledge of Datacard IDWorks Production and Design Systems.
* Knowledge of Blackboard Transaction System.
* Skills in supply and inventory control including equipment, office products, and/or services.
* Skills in organization, database management, and coordination.
* Skills in records management.
* Skills in report writing and record keeping.
* Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Skills in working with computer software and hardware.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Excellent leadership, supervisory, organizational, and conflict resolution skills to develop a well-functioning team.
* Ability to work in a team.
* Ability to creatively and independently problem-solve by prioritizing, organizing, and multitasking while under pressure.
* Ability to meet and work with people of diverse backgrounds.
* Ability to follow verbal and written procedures and instructions.
* Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
* Ability to manage an automated ticket office.
* Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

* Assures adherence to and enforcement of all campus accounting and auditing policies.
* Ability to handle a continuously changing work environment and/or procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred but not required:
* Knowledge of IDCore System, Datacard printers, and Blackboard Transact Systems.
* Call Center experience.
* Proficient in a second language of Chinese, Arabic, ASL, or Spanish.
* Knowledge of Smith’s Tix Box Office and VAST systems.
* Experience with the UVU Tickets system.
* Knowledge of USPS regulations and experience with usps.com
* Knowledge of UVU Freedom of Speech Policy 161.
* UVU Banner training helpful.

Physical Requirements:
Includes general office environment with constant movement in and around the office and various campus locations. Requires ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Pay Range: $30,052 - $37,565
