This position is for an adjunct pool that will be used to staff the
2018-2019 and/or 2019-2020 academic year.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in
geology courses, specifically Physical Geology and/or Environmental
Geology, for transfer to four-year institutions. The physical
geology course is a 54 hour lecture and 54 laboratory course which
covers the study of the earth as an integrated system of
hydrologic, tectonic, atmospheric, and human processes, including
the origin and evolution of continents, mountains, earth materials,
oceans, and life forms. It also covers geologic hazards, such as
earthquakes, floods, groundwater contamination, and global climate
change. The course will be delivered in a classroom in both Bishop
and Mammoth Lakes two days per week for 16 weeks and may be
delivered partially via interactive television and/or online.
The successful applicant will be expected to spend equal time in
both the Bishop and Mammoth Lakes classrooms and complete any
required training for online instruction, as needed.
Education and Experience:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Master’s in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology,
oceanography, or paleontology
