Department of Physics and Astronomy
Seeking qualified adjunct instructors to teach introductory physics
courses in person on campus during summer 2022 semester (Jun 6 to
Jul 29, 2022). Courses are General Physics II (algebra-based) and
Physics for Scientists and Engineers II (calculus-based), which
cover primarily electricity and magnetism. Duties include preparing
and delivering lectures, grading and course administration.
MS in Physics, Astronomy, science education, or a closely related
field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours completed in physics
content; or a high-school instructor with UMKC HSCP (High-school
College Program) dual-credit instruction experience.
Knowledge of how to engage intellectually with students using best
practices in student-centered teaching to help STEM-minded students
with varying levels of preparation develop a growth mindset and
