Job Summary

The HR Systems Project Analyst is responsible for the administration and coordination of human resources systems projects. This position partners with internal/external colleagues to improve processes and system functionality. The HR Systems Project Analyst builds project plans, ensures adherence to project schedules, maintains a systems orientation and can work effectively with peers to complete assigned projects. This position also serves as a point-of-contact for assigned functional area and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, and analyzing data for process improvement opportunities. The HR Systems Project Analyst also supports upgrades, testing and other technical projects as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Plan, schedule, monitor, and evaluate HRIS initiatives to ensure business solutions are implemented. Identify and resolve project issues and manage project risks. Act as point of contact for other departments to resolve problems regarding HRIS project support and act as in-house consultant for supporting systems
  • Assist in the development of functional specifications and system design specifications for projects. Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution. Represent the users in design changes to functionality, forms, reports, etc. Work with users to develop best practices.
  • Draft user documentation and develop ongoing training for users on HR systems. Serve as a resource and technical advocate to users.
  • Document systems functions and internal processes. Responsible for the training and ongoing education of HR/HRIS colleagues on HR systems.
  • Analyze, audits, and process all employee information changes/personnel actions in Banner in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Serve as the operations analyst for a client base in order to maintain connection to the daily operations of the HRIS team. Create, update and audit positions for all employment types. Reviews salary budgets for conformance to University policy and requirements; analyze budget requests and forward to appropriate departmental manager for resolution wherever questionable areas appear.
  • Authorize and request systems access and manage system and security access and issues for the user community. This includes monitoring and a routine review on the appropriateness of end-user security.
  • Leads systems maintenance, including the review, testing and implementation of system upgrades and/or patches. Collaborates with functional and technical staff on testing. Ensures issues are identified, reported, tracked and resolved in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience with Banner, PageUp, Hyperion
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, solve problems, act with discretion and maintain professional demeanor at all times
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook and database management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of staff including administration, faculty, staff and students
  • Sound judgment and ability to deal effectively with matters of a highly visible and confidential nature
  • High degree of professionalism, initiative, integrity, urgency and motivation
  • An understanding of the interrelationships of data on multiple systems and for various applications and the ability to quickly learn and apply new skills is essential
