Working closely with the Associate Vice President (AVP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Senior Director ensures the successful implementation of the Campaign for a Better World closing strategy while transitioning the team to a new set of post-campaign activities. The position supports this effort by: Implementing approved plans for campaign closure; Developing and finalizing post-Campaign analysis to inform and refine fundraising and stewardship strategives; Collaborating with RD colleagues and with faculty and academic leadership across the Institute to conceptualize, track and execute strategic fundraising plans aligned with MIT priorities; Managing the RD relationship with the Chair of the MIT Corporation, working collaboratively with the Special Advisor to the Chair;  Managing the RD relationship with the Chancellor and her office staff; Overseeing a highly functioning team within RD that operates as a project management consultancy, providing objective guidance to the broader advancement community; Overseeing the MIT Corporation Partners Program which entails producing three educational programs for partners of Corporation members each year; Managing and tracking progress on specific MIT-wide priority initiatives such as Climate and Sustainability, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (fellowships for underrepresented groups), capital projects, fundraising efforts residing in the Chancellor's Office, and others that will follow in time; Formulating and executing an advancement education program for the entire advancement community; Overseeing the MIT Corporation Development Committee (CDC) and its role in MIT fundraising; Ensuring the Office of Development Planning and Initiatives is a connector to the fundraising industry, benchmarking MIT’s performance against peers and recommending best practices.
