POSITION DETAILS

Hunter College seeks an Admissions Advisor. This position reports to the Admissions Specialist. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Admissions Advisor will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Advises students on all issues related to course and test credits transferring.
  • Reviews, evaluates and posts course equivalencies to CUNYFIRST which includes, but is not limited to; AP, CLEP, IB, A-level, College Now and college courses.
  • Maintains and updates transfer course equivalency rules in CUNYFIRST and the non-CUNY equivalency database (XCES).
  • Assists the team leader with training, communications planning, customer service and reporting.
  • Represents Undergraduate Admissions at information and evaluation events including Accepted Students Day.
  • Assists as needed with data entry, such as application processing and completion.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Capacity to work efficiently and independently on multiple tasks

  • Flexibility and resourcefulness working in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of applicable software applications; CUNYFIRST/PeopleSoft and Hobson’s CRM is a plus.

Coordinates and contributes to student recruiting activities.

  • Conducts open house sessions and orientations to ensure applicants are fully informed of requirements and processes
  • Assists in direct recruiting at high schools, community outreach events, and other appropriate locations
  • Provides general information on programs and services in person or by telephone, email, or letter
  • Maintains current information about College programs and degree requirements
  • Performs related duties as assigned
