Chemistry Professor - Tenured / Tenure Track (Open
Rank)
Division of Science
NYU Abu Dhabi
The Division
of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi invites applications for
faculty positions within its Chemistry Program.
We particularly welcome applications from women as well as members
of underrepresented groups. Multidisciplinary research and
exceptional teaching in a highly diverse and inclusive campus
community are hallmarks of the University’s mission.
NYUAD values diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity; such
principles are fundamental to the university's commitment to
excellence. Our faculty are the engines that sustain our inclusive
environment; NYUAD students come from more than 115 countries, with
no single one nationality exceeding more than 15 percent of the
total student population. Likewise, our faculty are highly diverse
and community-minded: our modern campus is home to over 320 faculty
who represent more than 45 different nationalities, all of whom
bring a global perspective to their classrooms and research
projects. Research is advanced by over 400 highly qualified
research staff, who are likewise drawn from all over the
world.
Applicants are invited to apply for an open-rank,
tenure-track/tenured position in all areas of chemistry, with a
preference to candidates with a research focus on Solid-State NMR
Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP), and particularly the
development of new DNP methods and their application to materials
for biochemical or environmental research. Applicants who hold a
PhD in chemistry or a chemistry-related discipline (preference will
be given to candidates with a PhD in analytical, physical and
inorganic chemistry) should demonstrate an outstanding track record
for their career stage in both teaching and research. This includes
publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, and participation
in conferences. The candidates should have demonstrated potential
to lead independent research projects, be open to develop
collaboration networks with other faculty and internationally, and
propose research projects that are likely to secure extramural
research funding.
Faculty in the Program in Chemistry contribute to the
multidisciplinary research at NYU Abu Dhabi that is a signature of
the institution’s liberal arts concept. Candidates are expected to
be outstanding scholars with exceptional productivity in their
fields, and to act as inspirational teachers and mentors to
undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates with ability to
teach inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, instrumental
methods, bioanalytical chemistry, and NMR spectroscopy at an
undergraduate and graduate level will be carefully
considered.
Successful candidates will receive a generous startup package as
well as renewable research funding to hire research assistants and
postdocs, and will also have access to internal funding. Faculty
have access to Core Technology Platforms (CTP) that house
state-of-the-art instruments and qualified specialists in advanced
manufacturing and electronics, analytical and materials
characterization, high-throughput screening, microscopy,
micro-fabrication, molecular and cell biology, photonics and
spectroscopy, and others. The Center for Research Computing (CRC)
provides high-performance computing facilities and support for
application hosting, data management and storage, big data,
artificial intelligence (AI), file transfer, and other activities
through the Linux cluster “Dalma” comprising around 12,000
computing cores and a peak performance of 385 TFLOPS. Visit
