University Relations
Special Events Communications Specialist
Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President, the Special Events Communications Specialist (Professional Services Specialist IV) is responsible for communication tied to large events held throughout the year, including but not limited to open houses, commencement and conferences. This position will be responsible for many aspects of communication surrounding these events, including signage, media relations, social media, multimedia presentations and marketing, in coordination with other University Relations staff; and does related work as required. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience working in communications is required, including managing event communication. A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field and a minimum of three years of experience with marketing and communications is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
