San Diego State University invites applications for one tenure-track (assistant professor) position and one tenured (associate professor) position in the area of Asian American Studies, to begin fall 2022. The positions are part of a cluster hire to strengthen Ethnic Studies at SDSU, consistent with the CSU-systemwide Ethnic Studies General Education requirement, SDSU’s Ethnic Studies graduate requirement, and SDSU’s commitment to equity and inclusion. Successful candidates will have tenure homes in an appropriate department in the College of Arts and Letters, while the candidate hired at the associate/tenured level will be charged with leading the development and establishment of an Asian American Studies department to complement SDSU’s existing Africana Studies, American Indian Studies, and Chicana/o Studies departments. Both positions will contribute to the expansion of Asian American Studies at SDSU, designated an AANAPISI-eligible institution.
