Job Summary

The Environmental Studies Program at Elmhurst University is seeking candidates interested in part-time faculty teaching opportunities. We have an immediate need for an instructor to teach ES 200: Environmental Science I in the 2022 Spring Term.

Essential Functions

Environmental Science I is an introduction to environmental science in an interdisciplinary context with a focus on the physical sciences. This survey course includes an introduction to Earth system science, the chronology of the Earth, atmospheric chemistry and structure, climate change and the chemistry and physics of energy resources and their use. The course is a combined lecture/laboratory course.

The class meets from 8:30 – 11:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, Geology/Geosciences or a closely related field is required.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
