The Department of Education at Elmhurst University in the greater Chicago area invites applications for adjunct faculty for the Spring 2022 academic year. We are specifically looking for someone to teach the graduate course, MTL 532 Teaching and Learning in the Diverse Classroom.
Essential Functions
- The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong teaching skillset at the college level for contributing to graduate programs, preferably teaching in an online or hybrid format
- This course will be taken by PK-12 teachers in the M.S. Ed in Special Education program, PK-12 teachers seeking the LBS1 Endorsement and by graduate students in the M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders program
- Develop, evaluate and share best practice for use with students with diverse needs through self-reflection and critical thinking;
- Employ best practice and innovative pedagogy that incorporates the principles of Universal Design for Learning;
- Accommodate student differences using appropriate inclusive, research-based strategies;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the essential features of UDL
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Candidates should have an earned doctorate in special education or a related field
- Candidates should have at least 3 years current or previous experience as a licensed teacher or related service provider in accredited U.S. public schools
