The University of Florida, College of Nursing is seeking an Assistant Dean for Student Services (ADSS) who provides transformational leadership in directing the Office of Student Services (OSS) in College of Nursing (CON). The ADSS oversees student services for the CON including recruitment, admission, progression, and retention procedures. The ADSS is an ex-officio member of the College Admission Advisory Committee and offers guidance regarding admission criteria and processes. This position is open to current UF regular/salaried faculty members only. Temporary faculty members are not eligible for this position.

This position is located in Gainesville, FL and may have occasional travel to Jacksonville, FL. This is not a remote or online faculty position. This position could be clinical or tenure accruing depending on the applicant’s qualifications.

At the college’s nurse-managed rural health clinic, Archer Family Health Care (AFHC), faculty members have provided primary care, mental health services and community health education to a largely underserved population in Archer, Florida, and the surrounding area for 20 years. The practice has over 1,500 active patients and typically provides over 5000 visits annually, with the practice achieving over 90% satisfaction rates from patients.

The College of Nursing has innovative education programs including nationally accredited baccalaureate (traditional and accelerated), a RN to BSN program, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, as well as the state’s oldest PhD in Nursing Science. The college uses online learning delivery for many of its programs. As part of UF Health, the University of Florida academic health center, the College of Nursing collaborates with five other health-related colleges and the UF Health family of hospitals, as well as clinical partners across the state, such as the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System. Faculty members provide primary care and psychiatric/mental health services to underserved adults, children and families in Alachua County and surrounding areas. The College’s active faculty practice also offers opportunities for interdisciplinary practice in specialty areas, across sites at UF Health.

Minimum Requirements: Doctoral preparation (PhD or DNP), Florida licensure or eligibility for Florida licensure

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience and record of scholarship and/or funded research. Certified Nurse Educator.
