The Business Operations Assistant will primarily support the
finance and human resource functions within the Graduate School of
Education ( GSE ) in accordance with State, University, Research
Foundation, UB Foundation and GSE guidelines, policies, and
procedures. This role will report to GSE’s Unit Business Officer
and work collaboratively with other staff and faculty in both the
Dean’s Office and GSE’s internal offices and centers. Strong
customer focus, professionalism, and attention to detail are
essential to the success of this position.
Broad areas of responsibility include but may not be limited to:
- Financial: Submission to Accounts Payable for processing,
purchasing activities using University issued credit card and/or
requisitioning system, disbursement/check requests.
- Human Resources: Personnel transactions, employment offer
letter creation and distribution.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Information collection, schedule coordination,
support of University wide systems implementation.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills are imperative to
the success of the person in this position. Engagement with
internal faculty and staff within other campus offices will be
important to ensuring transactions are completed. Proficiency in
Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) is
critical to this role. The individual must be able to manage
competing priorities and demonstrate a commitment to learning new
skills as needed.
