Provides assistance and expertise in various areas of research such as calibration of instrumentation, equipment maintenance and repair, preparation of samples for testing, monitoring of safety equipment and procedures, development and fabrication of prototype equipment, recording of test results, and basic analyses of data.Ensures experiments are preformed according to specification. May make practical technical recommendations to changes in procedures, equipment, or prototype design.Applies advanced skills adapting techniques, tools, or procedures to meet special needs. Develops leadership and management skills.Duties: Varied and technically complex. Resolves most questions referring only the most complex to higher levels. Adapts procedures to meet special needs.Supervision: Receives general supervision. May orient and train low level employees.

This position will be responsible for managing and assisting in the hiring process of a team of weather balloon launchers to conduct weather balloon launches at the DOE site at the La Porte, TX airport in support of the TRACER campaign. Launches will occur every 6 hours for a full year. The candidate will also participate in the balloon launches as well as assist in training the hiring team. In the spring of 2022 the candidate will be responsible for assisting in the hiring of additional team members to launch weather balloons from Guy, TX as well as additional team members to support enhanced launches in La Porte from June-September 2022. A background in meteorology and prior weather balloon launch experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications :

Associates and 3 years experience

Associate's Degree with 3 years experience.
