Samford University’s Howard College of Arts and Sciences invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to apply for an Assistant Professor (Broadcast) in the Department of Communication and Media.  This full-time tenure track position is a 9-month appointment and carries a 3-3 teaching load.  The position will begin August 2022.

Qualified candidates will hold a Ph.D. in mass communication, communication, or a closely related field from an institutionally accredited college or university (or equivalent). Candidates should possess a demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate broadcast journalism courses and have professional experience in broadcast journalism.  Preference will be given to candidates with audio-video production experience and the ability to teach sports broadcasting and/or film production courses. Successful candidates will have demonstrated a record of peer-reviewed scholarship and excellence in teaching.
