Tenure Track Faculty Announcement

Nine-Month Assistant Professor Tenure Track Position

The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism in the College of Health at the University of Utah is pleased to announce a nine-month (equivalent to 0.75 FTE annual) Assistant Professor Tenure Track appointment to begin fall semester 2022. The Department is looking for a research-active faculty member who will complement our current faculty and build from the inherent strengths of the College of Health, University, and the State of Utah.

The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda that either aligns with current research efforts in the Department and College or holds sufficient critical mass to sustain an independent research lab, which supports graduate students and research activities. Further, the successful candidate will teach core courses in our graduate and undergraduate programs, seek external funding to support their agenda, and recruit and supervise graduate students.

Potential applicants should visit our website to review our faculty expertise and existing courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. In their letter of application, candidates should comment on how they see themselves contributing to our current productivity and structure. We are especially interested in hiring a colleague who complements our existing faculty and creates unrealized synergies in our Department and within the College of Health.

The Department and University believe that a diverse faculty benefits and enriches the educational experiences of the entire campus and greater community. Our faculty and staff are committed to removing barriers that have been traditionally encountered by individuals from underrepresented groups; strive to recruit faculty who will further enhance our diversity; and make every attempt to support their academic, professional, and personal success.

We are a collegial community of creative and committed scholars and educators who all work collaboratively in teaching, scholarship and service.
