Position: Assistant Professor of Psychology-Clinical
Psychology
Starting Date: August, 2022
Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution (or equivalent) is required at the time of application.
- Evidence of effective teaching experience.
- Evidence of scholarly engagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Evidence of experience mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students in a research setting.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise working in diverse communities or in community settings.
- Licensed or license eligible in Clinical Psychology or closely related area in the state of California.
Duties:
The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty
members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative
activity, and service to the University, profession and to the
community. These responsibilities generally include: advising
students, participation in campus and system-wide committees,
maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively
with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic
functions.
Teach courses in applied psychology (e.g., Introduction to Clinical
and Counseling Psychology, Psychopathology, Racial and Ethnic
Minority Mental Health), and work with members of the department to
develop more clinical psychology course offerings.
The successful candidate will be committed to the academic success

Salary: Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and
experience.

The Department:
The Psychology Department includes 17 tenured/tenure-track faculty
representing a range of disciplines. The department serves
approximately 1200 undergraduate students majoring in psychology
and approximately 50 graduate students in two graduate programs:
General Psychology MA and Forensic Psychology MS. Faculty members
are equally committed to fostering service that promotes social
justice in our local and global communities and incorporating
cultural issues in curriculum, research, and mentoring.
