Job Summary

The primary function of this position is support of the Assistant AD, Compliance in the Athletics' Compliance office. The Athletic Compliance Office serves as a resource to all members of the Drexel Athletic community with respect to NCAA regulations, Colonial Athletic Association rules, departmental and university issues. The Compliance Office shall maintain up-to date knowledge, monitor the legal and regulatory environment of intercollegiate athletics, and abide by the letter and intent of the NCAA, Colonial Athletic Association and Drexel University. In addition, the office will administer rules education programs to staff and student-athletes as well as offer interpretive support to those associated with Drexel Athletics.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain steady communication with Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, Compliance Intern, student-athletes, and coaches.
  • Be familiar and comply with all departmental, university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations, which directly deal with an NCAA Division I Athletic program.
  • Maintain accurate NCAA, CAA and institutional records and reports.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating continuing academic eligibility.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate team rosters through university banner system and compliance software.
  • Manage the recruiting monitoring process, such as official visits, unofficial visits, phone calls, contacts, and evaluations, as well as, all countable athletic related activities, playing and practice season through compliance software.
  • Manage the day-to-day tasks involving the pre-read program: admissions review requests and need based aid review requests. Serve as the liaison for these tasks with Admissions and Enrollment Analytics.
  • Assist with the financial aid process through NLIs, renewals and ensure all scholarship student athletes have correctly allocated funds in the banner system.
  • Manage the beginning of term book ordering process for all book scholarship student athletes. This includes communication with student athletes on the process and ensuring compliance with all submitted and approved book forms.
  • Administer and process receipts and requests for the NCAA Special Assistance Fund.
  • Provide content for and oversee the distribution of a monthly compliance newsletter to the athletic department staff and EMSS constituents.
  • Assist with the ongoing student athlete’s name, image and likeness activities requests.
  • Assist the athletic department with game day operations related to compliance issues surrounding complimentary tickets.
  • Manage and oversee the department's camps and clinics programs serving as the primary liaison for both internal and external groups wishing to operate camps or clinics on Drexel's campus.
  • Serve as a liaison to the admissions and financial aid departments, specifically as it relates to NCAA initial eligibility and financial aid legislation.
  • Oversee the compliance internship program and assign tasks to intern, as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, Senior Associate Athletic Director/SWA and/or the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in Athletics Compliance
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Experience as a student-athlete, coach or administrator
