The Department of Chemistry (​cse.umn.edu/chem​) seeks to fill one tenure-track or tenured faculty position beginning July 1, 2022 or later. Applications will be accepted from candidates with interests that primarily focus on the development of instrumentation and/or techniques for making molecular measurements in research areas with potential for high societal impact such as energy, the environment, and health. The search is open to junior faculty, but senior faculty will be considered in exceptional cases. The appointee will be expected to build and sustain an innovative research program, advise research students, teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Department of Chemistry, and participate in departmental and university governance. Selection will be based on each candidate’s record of previous accomplishments relevant to these responsibilities, their potential for outstanding future contributions, and their potential to actively advance the institution’s goal of creating a positive campus climate that is both inclusive and diverse. Appointees must have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree by the date of appointment. Evaluation of applications will begin November 15, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled.
