Job Summary:

The research laboratory of Megan McClean is looking for a research specialist that will work on projects to understand signaling and signal processing in model eukaryotes including Saccharomyces cerevisiae and the human pathogen Candida albican. This position will act as the lab manager for the McClean lab as well as the BME Department shared lab. In this role, the candidate should be able to train and supervise undergraduate students to perform laboratory tasks, including glassware washing, general cleaning, and media preparation.

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Bachelor's degree in Biology desirable. Masters degree preferred.

Qualifications:

Experience with standard yeast genetics, protein purification, and fluorescence microscopy is required. The candidate should have sufficient expertise in molecular biology to be able to design and optimize new protocols. 5+ years of research laboratory experience required, 10+ years of research laboratory experience preferred.
