The Department of Counselor Education and Rehabilitation in the Kremen School of Education and Human Development at California State University, Fresno is excited to invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Student Affairs and College Counseling.

Primary responsibilities include teaching core and specialization courses in the Student Affairs and College Counseling (SACC) program, supervision of practicum and internship, advising master-level students, conduct scholarly and applied research, and engage in service-related activities. This position may also provide additional support for the coordination of practicum and internship experiences for the SACC program and support efforts toward obtaining CACREP accreditation. Specific assignments are dependent on the departmental needs and the background of the individual.

Required Qualifications:

1. Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Counselor Education and Supervision or other closely related disciplines such as counseling psychology, college student personnel, higher education, or student affairs from an accredited institution. Applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered; however, requirements for the doctorate must be completed by the time of appointment.
2. Student affairs and/or college counseling-related professional experience.
3. Teaching experience in higher education.
4. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working with faculty, staff, and students from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. An earned doctorate from a CACREP accredited program with a specialization in college counseling, student development, or student affairs.
2. Two or more years of relevant professional experience in student affairs and/or college counseling preferred.
3. Ability to teach core counseling and SACC specialization courses as required by the department. Graduate teaching experience preferred.
4. Ability to supervise students during practicum and internship.
5. Ability to advise and mentor graduate students from diverse backgrounds.
6. Evidence of recent publications and conference presentations related to student affairs and/or college counseling.
7. Active engagement in relevant student affairs and/or counseling professional organizations.
8. Experience with or knowledge of CACREP accreditation standards.
