Engineering & Computing College: The Assistant Director manages the day-to-day office activities of the Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute and serves as a liaison to numerous other departments within the Division and the University.  In addition, the Assistant Director performs a variety of complex administrative tasks involving creativity, planning, organization, and communications, both verbal and written, directly with external business executives.

The Assistant Director will partner with the Executive Director to create and develop programs and projects, communication and marketing strategies; coordinate the student recruitment process, arrangements for outside speakers, mentors and external contacts; handle sensitive and confidential materials; serve as first point of contact in areas related to the position for the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC); build and maintain relationships with alumni, donors, senior-level corporate leaders participating in the Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute; assist with the development of social media strategies for marketing and special campaigns through social media outlets; financial management of the Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute's donations and operating expenses; supervise student employees and teaching assistants.

Required: Associate's degree and three years of experience in a business environment, or five years of professional experience in a business environment. Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Consideration may be given to candidate with knowledge of desktop publishing software programs.; ability to cooperate with co-workers on group projects; event planning experience; working knowledge and skill operating standard office equipment (i.e copier, fax, document scanner, etc.) and a variety of complex software applications; experience writing content for web and social media; working knowledge of Miami University and familiarity with Miami's policy and procedures, including Buyway, Native Banner, BannerWeb, MiNE, travel and expense reporting, credit card reconciliation and Timeclock Plus (TCP); proven excellence in written and verbal communication skills with varied audiences (student, co-workers, senior management, high-level corporate executives, etc.) as demonstrated by presentation materials; ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple assignments, both routine and special projects, simultaneously with minimal direction; requires a high degree of accuracy, attentional to detail, tact, and decorum; must possess an understanding or interest in leadership development; experience working with senior-level corporate leaders.
