The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), part of the State University of New York and an internationally renowned college of art, design, business and technology with a strong emphasis on liberal arts, invites applications for a Registrar Technology Coordinator in the office of the Registrar.

 


Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Operational Manager to analyze requirements and facilitate continuous improvements to business processes
  • Maintain and help improve business processes and office efficiencies using new and existing technology to provide high level, quality service to students, faculty and academic departments
  • Collaborate to enhance communications and ensure timely dissemination of pertinent information to students and/or faculty
  • Create procedural documentation for office processes; train staff on new and existing processes

Act as an integral part of the Registrar's Office Technology Team

  • Resolve concerns/troubleshoot technology issues for applications used by students/faculty/staff; work with IT if necessary
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and IT staff to implement new technology to enhance business processes, to include testing and training staff
  • Create, analyze, and disseminate reports to support the Registrar's Office, Academic Departments, and Academic Advisement Center
  • Assist with End of Term Processing including, but not limited to, rolling grades, recalculating GPAs, recalculating repeat counts, processing honors, etc.
  • Test all new patches and upgrades which are release by Banner.

Function as primary liaison with National Student Clearinghouse

  • Submit electronic enrollment/degree report files regularly and in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot issues working with the Clearinghouse; test and implement new patches or upgrades to Clearinghouse or Banner to ensure functionality is maintained

Data Reporting

  • Liaison with Institutional Research on all SIRUS Data submissions.  This includes but is not limited to working closely with IR and other departments on maintaining data, developing and running error reports to oversee that all student and course data is correctly reported to SUNY and external agencies.  This also includes all testing & implementing changes as SIRIS reporting requirements change. 
  • Develop reports using Argos and other reporting tools in order to service the needs of the College.  Many of these
  • Develop & produce error reports related to student integrity

End of Term Processing

  • Process all end of term processing as it relates to closing out the term.  This includes but is not limited to rolling grades, recalculating GPAs, assigning probation/dismissal and honors, failed pre-requisite notifications. 

Other responsibilities

  • Liaise with study abroad coordinators to streamline registration
  • Support diploma process regarding graduate data, maintenance, and ordering
  • Deliver high quality services to students and faculty in the areas of records and registration; provide students with accurate information on established policies and procedures in person, by telephone, and email
  • Capability to process data accurately and with discretion adhering to the guidelines of FERPA
  • Special projects as assigned by your supervisor

 


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors required, Masters preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in registration, and academic records
  • Expertise regarding student records privacy (FERPA) policy and procedures
  • 3 or more years managing a team in a college/university Registrar's environment; position assist in managing technology projects
  • Technical expertise, including proficiency in working with integrated administrative software, applications, and data applications; extensive Banner knowledge preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with, and foster collaboration among, a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a large, complex academic environment
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and oversee multiple tasks effectively; superior project management skills
  • Demonstrated management, supervision, and strategic leadership skills and aspirations
  • Familiarity with issues that influence higher education; monitor industry trends, and apply this knowledge to organizational goals and business objectives/processes
