Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is currently recruiting for a Benefit Coordinator or Benefit Administrator to join the Human Resources Benefits Team. This position's title will correlate to the level of experience of the selected candidate. This role is responsible for the administration of the group benefit programs to all ERAU campuses including:
  • group health
  • dental
  • vision
  • short and long-term disability
  • life insurance
  • flexible spending plan
  • health saving accounts
  • 403(b) retirement
  • educational benefits
  • absence and leave plans
  • workers compensation
Additionally, they are responsible for overseeing all system integrations between Workday and our vendor platforms and will assist our technical team with resolving system issues and testing. They will also handle the administration and coordination of workers compensation and unemployment benefits and claims for the institution.

Responsibilities include the following:
  • Handle benefit inquiries to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution for employees and vendors. Maintain contact with insurance/retirement providers, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits.
  • Ensure company compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), Affordable Care Act (ACA) and other federally mandated regulations that influence the Benefit Program.
  • Manage and troubleshoot all Workday integrations related to the benefit program and work with internal/external resources to ensure system and processes are running smoothly.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Worldwide Campus employees in regards to benefit enrollments, claims and general inquiries.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to other Benefit Specialist and Human Resources Directors.
  • Manage, review and follow up on all workers compensation claims for the Daytona Beach and Worldwide Campus employees.
  • Oversee the employee exit process related to Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) processing.
  • Assist with delivery of benefit information through New Employee Orientation, employee retirement meetings with vendors, open enrollment and university wide communication to enhance the understanding of our benefit program.
  • Continually look for ways to improve the benefit processes and the level of customer service we are providing our staff and faculty.
  • Work with internal and external auditors during non-discrimination testing and other audits.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to analyze current benefits; evaluate the use, service offerings, coverages, effectiveness, plan experience and competitive trends with other industry benefit programs.
Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • As a Benefits Administrator, we are requiring a minimum of 4 years' experience with managing benefit programs
  • As a Benefits Coordinator, we are looking for at least 3 years’ of professional experience in a customer facing role that is highly regulated
  • Strong understanding of benefits contract language along with knowledge of benefit plan design is preferred
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefit programs is also preferred
  • Excellent communication, organization and analytical skills
  • Must be comfortable presenting in front of large groups
  • Ability to critically evaluate and problem solve benefit related improvements
  • Must be able to work with multiple priorities and projects at the same time
  • Experience with Workday is strongly preferred
