The Department of Economics at UC Santa Barbara invites
applications for the Richard F. Aster Jr. Chair in Economics at the
Associate or Full Professor level with an anticipated start date of
July 1, 2022. Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. in economics
or a related field by the time of application, with preference for
candidates who currently hold the rank of Associate or Full
Professor. Preference will be given to candidates with a
demonstrated research program that advances the study of economics,
and a record of teaching and mentoring. A complete application will
include a CV, letter of intent and a statement of contributions to
diversity. We will begin reviewing completed applications on
November 1, 2021. This position will remain opened until filled.
For full consideration, all application materials must be completed
on or before October 31, 2021. The anticipated start date is July
1, 2022.
