Position Summary

In the position of Human Resources Administrator, major responsibilities that you will take ownership of include:
  • Administer employee communications pertaining to resident and fellow payroll, benefits and other employment-related issues.
  • Administer resident and fellow leaves of absence processes including; Family Medical Leave Act ( FMLA ), NYS Short Term Disability, NYS Paid Family Leave and Unpaid.
  • Administer workers’ compensation and disability claim processes.
  • Assist the third party administrator with COBRA plan required notices and information, provide termination dates, coverage payments, related tracking and record-keeping.
  • Assist the third party administrator with payroll.
  • Administrative liaison for resident and fellow Employee Health Services matters, provide support to Lead Physician for resident EHS and support staff of EHS facility. Duties include; administering annual incoming resident and fellow onboarding, background checks and physicals, EHS communications and related tracking systems.
Also, as Human Resources Administrator it will be your responsibility to help:
  • Administer onboarding requirements for approximately 250 new resident employees annually by preparing materials and presentations, scheduling new employee physicals, Coordinate and track employee background checks and drug screenings.
  • Review and track employment onboarding requirements in MedHub system, approving benefit elections during individual or group meetings and verifying credentials such as primary source verification of medical degrees.
  • Administer annual and off sync resident and fellow benefit enrollment, onboarding benefit meetings and benefit enrollment system data entry, reporting and audit practices.
  • Administer process to resolve outstanding resident and fellows checks through research, data analysis, handling of related communications and collaborate with GME Finance Department to reissue checks in an effort to balance accounts.
  • Administer daily and monthly timekeeping processes for the Office of Graduate Medical Education staff including timesheets and attendance communications.
SALARY RANGE : $36,000 – $38,000

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Able to coalesce, analyze and assimilate data
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to determine and balance work priorities and meet competing deadlines
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a Human Resources undergraduate internship
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or other related field
  • 1 – 2 years of experience working in human resources, operations or office administration

Physical Demands
  • Typical office environment.
  • Frequent time sitting, working with computer and telephone, occasional walking, climbing stairs, carrying light objects such as files and boxes (LT 1 lb. – LT 10 lbs.); especially during orientation/onboarding activities
