Department:CLSS | Academic Peer Coaches and Course Specific Tutors

Summary of Job Duties:Peer Academic Coaches in the Student Success Center support student learning by working together with the individual student to reflect on current performance and expand, refine, and build new skills during interactive online and/or in-person sessions. This position requires excellent communication skills and the desire to help students succeed. Coaches must work a minimum of ten hours per week on an established schedule.

Responsibilities & Requirements:
* Collaborate with students to identify areas of potential growth
* Conduct student outreach and follow-up
* Complete data entry using required database software
* Document and communicate student progress
* Participate in required training
* Attend staff meetings
* Perform miscellaneous duties as directed

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled student with c ompletion of t wenty-four credit hours at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville prior to job start

  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.25



Preferred Qualifications :

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher

  • One semester of experience supporting students (mentor, tutor, coach, SI leader, etc.)



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic work processing software, video conferencing and email systems

  • Skilled in interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

  • Skilled in conducting online and in-person meetings and sessions

  • A bility to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision

  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and troubleshoot appointment issues when necessary

  • Ability to d emonstrate a positive work ethic



Salary Information:

$13.00 per hour
