The Finance and Economics Department of Rutgers Business School at Newark and New Brunswick, Rutgers University, is seeking two full-time faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor, subject to funding availability. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in finance or economics, should have a track record of publications in top-tier finance and economics journals or ample evidence of the ability to publish in such journals and have demonstrated effective teaching at the university level. Strong preference will be given to candidates with scholarly activities and teaching in at least one of the following areas: credit risk, fixed-income, real estate, fintech, entrepreneurial finance and venture capital (small business finance).   

The Finance and Economics Department has 45 full- time faculty members. The Rutgers Business School offers BS, MBA, Master of Quantitative Finance, Master in Financial Analysis and Ph.D. programs that include finance and applied economics concentrations. The Department houses the Whitcomb Center for Research in Financial Services and the Center for Real Estate.

Responsibilities

Candidates must be dedicated to providing quality instruction and undertake independent scholarly activity appropriate for advancement within Rutgers University in at least one of the following areas: credit risk, fixed-income, real estate, fintech, entrepreneurial finance and venture capital (small business finance).

The finance department offers courses on both the Newark and New Brunswick campuses. Hence, a successful candidate could be required to teach on both campuses. However, the successful candidate may choose a primary office on the campus of his/her choice.
