HEALTH EDUCATION COORDINATOR I (TEMPORARY POSITIONS)

Scope of Job:
Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of health education and promotion programs.

Description of Duties:
• Recommends goals and activities of one or more health related projects and coordinates assigned events/programs.

• Assists in the development of educational programs from needs assessments through evaluation.

• Assists in the creation, delivery and dissemination of program promotion and publicity.

• Trains and supervises employees, volunteers and students to assist in the organization and delivery of programs.

• Delivers and develops health education services by coordinating specific health education programs.

• Designs evaluation plans and analyzes evaluation data of specific projects.

• Enters, verifies, and analyzes information on all assignments of the specific project.

• Represents the university at various meetings of state, county, and local organizations as assigned.

• Assists in grant writing, prepares presentations, writes letters, and answers inquiries concerning the specific project.

• Conducts publicity efforts and organizes workshops.

• Disseminates information, writes letters and answers routine inquiries concerning specific project.

• Performs related duties as assigned.

Supervision Received:
General direction from the assigned supervisor.

Supervision Given:
Direct supervision of all assigned staff.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree with major course work in field of assignment from an accredited University.

Preferred Education:

Licenses/Certifications:
None.

Required Experience:
One (1) year of experience related to health education.

Preferred Experience:
N/A

Equipment:
Use of standard office equipment.

Working Conditions:
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; travel may be required in the Valley/border area with some occasional overnight travel outside the area.

These positions are full-time, benefits eligible temporary positions.

Exceptional planning and organizational skills.

Special Notes: One (1) position will be available to start in December 2021, while the other two (2) positions will be available to start in May 2022.
