The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Providence College, Providence, Rhode Island, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the areas of physical or analytical chemistry, beginning August 1, 2022. Essential Duties
We are seeking candidates who are committed to engaged learning and collaborative, original research with undergraduate students, who employ inclusive practices in undergraduate teaching, and who will participate in the wider life of the Department and the College.

Successful applicants will be expected to teach lecture and laboratory courses at the introductory level (general chemistry) and at more advanced levels in their subdiscipline (physical or analytical chemistry). A willingness to teach courses for nonscience majors is also valued.

Candidates are expected to train and mentor undergraduates in the research laboratory and to establish an active, externally funded research program involving our students. Education and Experience Required
A Ph.D. in chemistry is required and postdoctoral or equivalent experience is encouraged. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is especially interested in applicants who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service obligations.
