The Department of Biology at Providence College in Providence, RI invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning August 1, 2022. Essential Duties
The successful candidate should be able to teach the following courses: Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics, Genetics and a course or courses in their specialty area. Preference will be given to candidates who can also teach Developmental Biology . The department has outstanding teaching and research facilities including a vivarium (equipped with a modern surgical suite and ample testing space) and dedicated wet labs for student/faculty research. Education and Experience Required
We seek outstanding candidates who hold a Ph.D. (post-doctoral experience preferred) in Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology or a closely related field. Successful candidates are expected to develop and maintain an active, extramurally funded research program with outstanding scholarship and to demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring of undergraduate students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
· Earned doctorate in cell biology, molecular biology or related field
· Record of scholarly productivity
· Commitment to inclusive pedagogy, diversity, and equity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
· Demonstrated success mentoring students
· Successful teaching experience in higher education, including development of inclusive pedagogy
· Demonstrated success engaging undergraduates in research
