Job Responsibilities:
The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applicants for Instructional Designer and Technologist I in the Center for Excellence and Innovation in Teaching, Learning and Distance Education (CEITL & DE). This position reports directly to the Director of the Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology.
This position is responsible for the following:
• Assists in the development, configuration, implementation and support of the college’s Learning Course Management System (Canvas).
• Troubleshoots problems and coordinates upgrades with the appropriate LCMS Administrator and serves as a LCMS subject matter expert.
• Implements appropriate LCMS LTIs and e-learning components.
• Collaborates with faculty and staff to create high quality, interactive face-to-face, hybrid and online courses.
• Supports the ongoing assessment of instructional effectiveness for existing and future face-to-face, hybrid and online programs and courses.
• Researches, develops and implements new instructional technology and e-learning tools.
• Trains faculty, staff and students on new technologies (i.e. SWIVL, iPad apps, virtual conferencing, Lightboard) as well as basic computer applications (i.e., Microsoft, Excel).
• Provides faculty and student online orientation/trainings for Citadel Online (i.e. LMS, Canvas, Zoom).
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in education, instructional technology or a related field and experience in instructional technology and/or online education is required. Must have experience using Canvas or other Learning/Content Management Systems. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task. Must be proficient with Windows, MS Office, and other multimedia technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
An advanced degree in education, instructional technology, or a related field is preferred.
