The Human Resources Assistant will perform administrative tasks and
services to support effective and efficient operations of benefits
Maintains accurate and up-to-date files, records, and
documentation while also maintaining their integrity and
Serves as primary telephone contact and email responder for
Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to
standard policies, benefits and payroll processes, etc.; utilizes
appropriate other HR staff as needed.
Performs periodic audits of benefit records to ensure internal
and external data is reflective of employees' selections.
Acts as a liaison between the organization and external
benefits providers and vendors, which may include health,
disability, and retirement plan providers.
Conducts or assists with new hire benefit orientation and
manages election data in HRIS.
Performs intake, reporting, and tracking of work injury
Administers COBRA and retiree billing process.
Performs initial verification and ongoing dependent eligibility
Assist with payroll functions including time entry,
validations, and vacation/sick audits.
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as
benefits annual enrollment, W2 and ACA processing.
Perform other duties as necessary or as assigned within the
human resources department.
REQUIRED SKILL AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage
sensitive and confidential situations and data with tact,
professionalism, and diplomacy.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource
information system (HRIS) and similar computer applications.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing tasks on
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent is required;
Associate's degree in related field is preferred.
Prior related office experience preferred.
