Job Summary:

This position is for a Data Specialist in a large-scale project testing the neural basis of consciousness. The successful candidate will join a team of scientists from the Allen Institute for Brain Science, INSERM, Sorbonne University, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Wisconsin-Madison. This is a hybrid position, requiring some work to be performed in-person at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with the possibility of travel between sites. Some work may be performed remotely at a non-campus location.

The duties will involve (i) data storage, transfer and security, including making data findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (the FAIR principle) [40%]; (ii) following open science protocols for data formatting and documentation of analysis pipelines (e.g., Neurodata without Borders, shared GitHub, and Jupyter notebooks) [20%]; (iii) programming (e.g., Python, Matlab) [10%]; (iv) maintaining the project server and computing resources [10%], (v) project coordination and administrative duties [10%], and (vi) developing a website for the purpose of making data and analysis pipelines freely available [10%].

Education:

Minimum requirement is BS or BEng in computer science or related field. Postgraduate training viewed favorably.
