Under the direction of the Operations Manager and dotted responsibility to the Director, the incumbent will be instrumental in the daily operations of the Campus Store, the Dome Shop and other affiliated retail outlets.
The incumbent will oversee all operational functions, inventory control, sales, hiring, as well as ongoing development of a diverse team.
Create processes, set productivity parameters, and implement directives to support operational efficiency and growth.
Develop and deliver strategic plans for online, Dome and in store sales.
Work collaboratively with store managers and executive leaders to improve the customer experience.
Work on store level HR related issues. Organize and oversee the website fulfillment process and develop initiatives related to retail fulfillment, including process and tool development.
Ensure that the Campus Store and Dome Shop is fully staffed with the right number of people with the right talent to meet standard work expectations.
Supervise the Customer Service Coordinator and ensure that coverage is scheduled to optimize productivity and efficiency.
Review reports that detail profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data; provides verbal or written summary to upper management regarding any related issues.
Assume Operations Managers role in their absence. Qualifications
College Degree required. 5+ years in related position with strong and expert proficiency with MS Office applications, hardware, and software maintenance. Experience with Business Operating Systems required. Oracle NetSuite Enterprise System required. Point of Sale ( POS ) experience required. Experience in a fast-paced retail environment with web fulfillment required. Job Specific Qualifications

Organized, superior time management skills, and self-direction. Experience with NetSuite Enterprise system required and maintenance of an enterprise solutions. Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on software knowledge, installations, and use. Experience with cloud services.
Skill to interact and communicate positively with other staff and customers. Ability to create clear and effective policy and disseminate the information.
Skill and ability to handle stressful situations, multiple deadlines in a calm professional manner. Knowledge and ability to effectively utilize equipment in daily routines as well as unforeseen emergencies. Responsibilities
  • Formulate strategies to improve departmental performance and retail operations in the Campus Store, Dome Shop, and online marketplace.
  • Incumbent must routinely monitor financial results comparing merchandise categories to prior year and budget including the following Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Sales (physical retail & online ecommerce), price changes (markups & markdowns), gross margin and GMROI, correct inventory levels and turns, operational expenses, contribution to campus, etc.
  • Work with area Managers to ensure accurate sales processes are being conducted.
  • Create and document effective processes, set productivity parameters, and implement directives to support operational efficiency and growth to achieve positive KPIs.
  • Develop and deliver strategic plans for online and in store sales.
  • Create effective workflows and improve logistics to satisfy customer demands, reduce errors and redundancy.
  • Supervise the Customer Services Coordinator, the Dome Merchandise Supervisor and Office Coordinator, and direct the labor requirements for the operation of a successful Campus and Dome store. Responsibilities include managing and leading a team of salaried and hourly colleagues, coaching, and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives of the Store Operations are met.
  • Planning and assigning work for staff in accordance with the organization’s policies.
  • Assesses staff competency and proficiency; identifies staffing needs. Work closely with Sr. Management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Follow through with implementation when necessary. Develop, and manage performance of direct reports.
  • Responsible for the supervision of full-time and student employees working in the web fulfillment area.
  • Ensure the accurate web fulfillment of textbooks, college apparel and gifts; this includes a high volume of orders during the start of each semester, promotions and throughout the holiday season.
  • Develop processes and staff to manage the web and create fulfillment strategies that align with the goals of our sales, purchasing, and inventory teams.
  • Create effective logistics and service standards to fill a customer order quickly and correctly. Monitor site performance, define optimal end user shopping experience.
  • Make improvements in processes and in the system to efficiently run the area.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Store Buyers and Marketing Department on inventory levels, reorders, and merchandise assortment.
  • Develop action plans to improve overall store profitability and success of the web store.
  • Manage appropriate and required POS hardware and software keeping it up to date and functioning, suggesting upgrades as appropriate to facilitate in store and online sales.
  • Serve as a store expert user on the point of sale ( POS ) and enterprise system.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Evaluate issues and propose solutions with appropriate staff member.
  • Create operations protocols to have system work at optimum level.
  • Enhance the operational procedure, systems, and principles to ensure correct running of the system, especially pertaining to business processes, enhanced reporting.
  • Regularly develop training sessions with the introduction of new or updated software.
  • Work collaboratively with the Applications Specialist and Data Services to ensure enterprise system is running according to plan.
  • Evaluate current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives and develop and implement improved procedures and practices relating to system usage to maximize its sales and inventory abilities.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
