Psychology, Assistant Professor

We invite applications for two positions of Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy. Applicants whose work demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities: Teach graduate courses in diagnosis and treatment of children, families, and/or couples, multicultural therapy, and a broad range of undergraduate courses in Psychology. Our clinical MS program prepares students for licensure as Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs). The position requires excellence in teaching and advising, an active research program, and service to the Department, the College, and the University.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field by the time of appointment; CA license eligible as MFT or psychologist; evidence of ability to be successful at university teaching; program of relevant research; demonstrated ability to contribute to university through teaching, research, service, and fostering an inclusive environment.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications: ability to teach psychology undergraduate research methods and/or statistics; minimum of 1-year university teaching experience; current CA license as an MFT or psychologist; ability to serve as an advisor and research mentor to a diverse undergraduate and graduate student body.

Date of Appointment: In the 2022-2023 academic year.
