Position Information
The tenure-track Assistant Professor position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching environmental science or geological science to future elementary school teachers and middle and high school science teachers, scholarship including research publications, conference presentations and research grants, and service through student advising, department, college and university committee assignments and community outreach. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department. Minimum Education and Experience
The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a terminal degree in Science Education with a Master’s in Environmental Science or Geological Sciences or related area such as Ph.D. in Environmental Science or Geological Sciences with an emphasis in science education research. Candidates nearing completion of the terminal degree may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the degree must be met no later than August 17, 2022. The Department: The Department of Science Education at California State University, Chico is a small, vibrant, multidisciplinary science education department in the College of Natural Sciences, offering a BS in Natural Sciences with the option of Science Education.
