Summary:
The purpose of the Administrative Coordinator position is to provide support to the Administrative Director and manage day-to-day front office operations. The core responsibilities for the Administrative coordinator position are to coordinate day-to-day office operations and create a welcoming, professional environment that is focused on high-quality customer service. This includes serving as the primary contact for the Office of the President and general communications received via walk-ins, email, and telephone. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating internal office logistics for various conference rooms and other Office of the President resources. The selected individual will serve as the building manager and ensure that maintenance and daily operations run effectively. This position will also assist with fiscal operations, project management, and other projects as needed.
Minimum hiring standards:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and perspectives;
Demonstrated ability to exercise professional discretion and maintain confidentiality;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Exceptional customer service in conjunction with superior problem-solving skills;
Proficiency working with MS Office Suite;
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
High emotional intelligence with a proven ability to find solutions to complex issues;
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships;
Self Starter, with demonstrated ability to work independently.
Preferred hiring standards:
Experience working in an executive office;
Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and organizational structures;
Substantial experience in a fast-paced, complex work environment;
Progressive and significant work experience in an administrative position required
Experience with Microsoft Office Access, Excel, and Word.
Salary Range: $40,000-$54,000
