Job Description

Backed by the world’s largest and oldest university specializing in aviation and aerospace, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the Asia campus is looking for a passionate educator to support the course instruction to groom aviation leaders of tomorrow.

The identified educator should demonstrate passion and extensive knowledge in the subject matter and be open to using engaging visuals, technologies and methods to facilitate knowledge transfer and interaction with undergraduate and graduate students.

The faculty must be able to provide a comprehensive examination of maintenance policies, procedures and practices employed in the management of aviation maintenance programs in a global, multi-organizational industry; giving emphasis on all aspects of maintenance management, including organizational management, planning, forecasting, cost control, reliability, flight scheduling, and safety. He/She should also have strong knowledge to evaluate the methods and procedures involved in aircraft accident investigation. He/She will help students understand the procedures for determining accident causes such as techniques used by trained accident investigator.

The identified adjunct faculty may be able to teach some or all of the following module(s):
  • Human Factors in Aviation / Aerospace Industry

  • Aviation Maintenance Management

  • Aviation / Aerospace Safety Program Management

  • Aircraft Accident Investigation

  • Aviation / Aerospace Accident Investigation and Analysis

  • Aircraft Crash and Emergency Management

  • Project Management in Aviation / Aerospace

Qualifications
  • Holds a master’s or doctoral degree in either of the following disciplines: Aeronautical / Aerospace Engineering; Aeronautical / Aerospace Science; Engineering (Human Factors / Safety)

  • Confident in engaging large groups of students

  • Professional experience in the aviation industry or teaching experience at a higher educational institution will be advantageous

Note: This is an adjunct position where the faculty will be engaged for a nine-week term in a classroom setting, based in Singapore. The faculty member will be required to teach up to six hours per week in class. Each term consists of eight weeks of teaching and one week of examination and grading. The adjunct faculty must be available to teach during the day during weekdays and weekends.
