The Williams College Computer Science Department seeks an experienced Systems Support Specialist to administer the department's computer systems. You will collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and students to understand the department's technology needs and to provide a stable and effective computing platform for research and teaching. Your responsibilities will span systems, networks, desktop, and instructional technology, and your work will help ensure that the department can carry out its core mission of providing the finest possible computer science education to our students.

Qualifications
  • Required
    • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred
    • Experience maintaining and performing administrative tasks on Ubuntu/Linux workstations and servers.
    • Experience maintaining and performing administrative tasks on Apple systems.
    • Experience configuring and administering core network services, including NFS, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, backup, and authentication.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with a broad and diverse group of stakeholders.
    • Independent problem solving and self-direction.
    • Ability to readily acquire new knowledge and skills.
    • Experience working in an academic environment or higher education.
