Williams College is pleased to announce the opening for a Business Analyst - Financial Systems position in our Controller’s Office. As the Business Analyst, Financial Systems, you are responsible for ensuring an excellent user experience for staff in the Controller’s Office and offices across the college. You will work with the Controller’s Office staff to enable the effective use of the Finance System including gathering and assessing end user needs and writing specifications to be used to create reports, process enhancements and business process changes. Additionally, you will play a key role in the selection and implementation of the finance module of a new campus wide ERP. As a key member of the implementation team you will work with the project manager, finance lead and key members of the finance team to review system features against current business procedures, assist with the data transformation rules and testing, and train users on the selected software tools.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Accounting, Finance, IT .
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, with progressively increasing responsibility in project management, business analysis, and implementation of software systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with quantitative software such as Excel and finance databases such as PeopleSoft, Workday, Oracle.
  • A solid understanding of accounting (including purchasing and payments) and budgeting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management experience including ability to organize and direct projects to completion in a demanding environment. Experience with creating project plans, test plans, and schedules for large implementation projects.
  • Experience with business process analysis and requirements gathering
  • Excellent oral and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy required to work effectively with colleagues across the institution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize work, and manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
