The Dean of Academic and Student Affairs is seeking an Operations Program Manager to support the facilities and scheduling operations of the Academic and Student Affairs divisions. The Academic and Student Affairs Operations Manager will have a regular office on one of the Portland Community College campuses (location to be determined) with frequent travel throughout the district.

This position will be responsible for coordinating Academic Affairs and Student Affairs facilities and scheduling needs and for supervising the Campus Facilities Scheduling Coordinators. This position will also serve as liaison with Planning and Capital Construction, Facilities Maintenance Services, Information Technology, campus-based Safety Committees, and other areas of the college that support facilities and scheduling operations. This is an exciting time to join Portland Community College in this new position, which will initially concentrate on facilities scheduling, office relocations, and the implementation of the new College Strategic Plan.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and implement large-scale projects, including the ability to problem solve both independently and collaboratively, to show initiative, and take on tasks and responsibilities at appropriate times
  • Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining excellent and effective working relationships with culturally and ethnically diverse populations and colleagues
  • Highly effective communication skills in all modalities, including the ability to explain facilities and scheduling constraints, ability to summarize recommendations with solid reasoning either through written or verbal formats, and to respond to questions and concerns with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated competence with ERP tools and other software systems that deal with reporting and facilities/room scheduling tools such as Banner, Ad Astra, Argos, and 25-Live or the ability to translate experience with similar systems
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and supervising staff and monitoring staff performance
Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field. ( Note : Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.)
  • Three (3) years progressively responsible, professional experience related to area of assignment, including
  • Two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience. (Successful completion of PCC LEAD Academy or a comparable external leadership training program may substitute for up to 6 months of lead or supervisory experience.)
Preferred Qualifications

Position Grade J Starting Salary Expectations Minimum $65,713 to range midpoint of $80,496. Placement will generally not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $65713 to $95282 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work environment includes frequent disruptions and changes in priorities. Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Working hours may vary and occasional evening or weekend work is required. Frequent travel to other locations is required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily. Background Check Required Yes
