Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Alfred University's College of Liberal Arts & Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position in Computer Science at the Assistant Professor level beginning August, 2022. The Division of Mathematics and Computer Science has recently established a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science. The individual hired for this position will have the opportunity to continue the development of the Computer Science major and minor and work closely with faculty members in engineering, data analytics, and other computer-related fields. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to quality, excellence in undergraduate teaching, maintaining an active research program, and engaging with the life of the College and University.

Responsibilities include teaching three four-credit computer science courses per semester ranging from introductory and intermediate courses to upper-level electives and topics courses. Ideal candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or other related fields. A Master's degree will also be considered with significant work and teaching experience. All areas of specialization in computer science are welcome to apply.
