Summary of Job Duties:The Training Advisor will assist the UA Early Care and Education Projects (ECEP) Director to recruit, observe, train, and mentor other trainers; conduct training and trainer in-service; write, revise, and proofread; produce camera-ready copy; mentor other writers; interact with other training advisors and support personnel; and work in participant and trainer databases and file related reports. The is a one-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in adult or Early Childhood Education or closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least five years or more of teaching experience with birth - five-year-old children, parental involvement, and designing curriculum lesson plans

  • At least five years of experience working with adults and conducting training workshops

  • At least three years of experience designing materials for adults

  • At least three years of experience coaching and/or mentoring teachers/trainers

  • Experience writing and designing training materials for adults

  • Experience in collecting data and writing research reports

  • Experience as an editor (writing, revising, editing, and working on deadlines)

  • Experience with Microsoft and Word Perfect office suites and Statistical Package for Social Sciences



Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least five years of experience working with grant proposals and awards

  • At least two years experience presenting research papers

  • At least five years of experience working with statewide agencies

  • Experience with early childhood advocacy networks

  • Experience as a leader in an early childhood organization (prefer someone who has held a board position)



Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the Early Childhood System and the rules and regulations which govern each system (Licensing, Better Beginnings, Division of Child Care & ECE, Advocates for Children and Families, Head Start, Arkansas Better Chance, USDA Food Program, AR Professional Development Registry)

  • Skilled at using the AR Professional Development Registry

  • Ability to have adaptability in working with internal and external partners

  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate projects
