The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, School of Education seeks a qualified candidate for a tenure-track clinical mental health counseling faculty position in the Department of Counseling beginning August 2022.
The successful candidate will teach core and specialty graduate-level counseling courses in the Department of Counseling. Classes are generally held in the evenings and offered in face to face, hybrid, and online formats. Additional responsibilities include student advisement and mentoring, serving on program, department, and university committees, service to the community, and scholarly activity.
The Department offers two CACREP-accredited graduate degrees in counseling: Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Professional School Counseling. The Department includes an active, dynamic faculty and serves a diverse student population.
Minimum Training and Experience Requirement: An earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a program that was CACREP-Accredited at time of graduation is required; licensure as a clinical mental health counselor (associate considered) in North Carolina or licensure eligible at time of employment required. Management Preferences: Prior teaching experience in higher education, strong research interest in clinical mental health counseling, and/or professional clinical mental health counseling experience are preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Licensure as a clinical mental health counselor (associate considered) in North Carolina or licensure eligible at time of employment and experience with graduate teaching and supervision.
